Who are we?
We are a farming family from Pinnaroo in South Australia, who yep...love producing red lentils, wheat, barley and canola.
Before farming, I worked as a teacher and Skeet was in the Air Force, we were given the opportunity to return to the family farm as Skeet took particular interest in its processes. Fast forward a few years and here we are!
Let’s get excited about lentils together!
Farmers in Australia grow and produce high quality export lentils. Lentils are an excellent nitrogen fixing plant and help to keep our soil healthy.
We thought it was about time Australian's discovered and had access to these amazing Aussie lentils. We found it ironic that we grow a great food, and then export it. Why?
As you can see on the nutritional panel, our produce is the reason we got excited and decided we needed to change the way we used it. Whilst we were thinking about this, we had another battle on our hands...
Let's be honest, we know lentils are really good for you, BUT what happens when your kids won't eat lentils and see though all your culinary disguises?
We had that problem and decided to turn our home grown red lentils into a flour, allowing us to easily add extra protein and nutrients into our diet...without detection from our little people!
Our red lentil flour is:
High in protein
High in fibre
No additives or preservatives
Fabulous for gut health
Low GI - keeping little people fuller for longer!
With all this in mind, I started adding tablespoons of red lentil flour to thicken sauces/curries and had great success i.e. the kids ate it! I then began to incorporate red lentil flour into our baked goods for lunch box snacks.
We have made lentils simple and easy to use throughout your cooking.
We hope you enjoy learning about our business, our product and our farm.
Start getting excited about lentils as new 2020 season flour is coming your way!
You Asked, We Answered
How do you bake with your lentil flour?
If you have a recipe that requires 2 cups of SR flour, I would use:
1 1/2 cups of SR flour
1/2 cup of our lentil flour
If you have a recipe that requires 1 cup of Plain flour, I would use:
1/2 cup of plain flour
1/2 cup of our lentil flour
**I will also use an extra 1/2tsp of baking powder
Our lentil flour is very in high protein, depending on your recipe, sometimes you will need to add extra liquid. I often need to add an additional egg or 1/4 cup of oil as the lentil flour is absorbent.
Raw lentil flour is slightly bitter. You will be able to taste and smell the lentil flour in your batter however once cooked, it has a subtle delicious nutty/earthy flavour.
If I use more than 3/4 of a cup of lentil flour in my baking, my kids will taste a difference. However the adults of the house enjoy it!

Are your products GF?
We realise that gaining your trust in our products is an honour.
We are 100% involved in the entire flour process. Our lentils are grown on our farm, stored in their own silo and milled on-site. We have our flour tested regularly for traces of gluten. Please read our Gluten Free information page.
Do you only sell red lentil flour?
Yes, we currently have some 2019 red lentil flour left in stock.
We are working on a new baking product range and will be available soon!
Are you organic?
At the moment, we are unable to farm organically due to being a broadacre cropping entity in a low rainfall environment. We adhere with current legislation and make a very conscious effort throughout our operation to grow our lentils in a safe and sustainable way.
Are your lentils GM?
Our lentils are not genetically modified.

You seem pretty excited about flour!
Haha YES! Not only do lentils make you feel good but we are excited to be growing and producing high quality lentils for Australians to consume.
Lentils are a vital part of our cropping program as they benefit our soil with natural nutrition.
We have created a very simple product to get lentils back into the pantry.
I personally feel good knowing that an ingredient I regularly use provides my family (kids especially) with alternative protein throughout the day!
We strive to create a safe, nutritious and healthy product for Australians to enjoy.
